Division of Specific Paediatric Chronic Disease Information
"Specific paediatric chronic disease" refers to an illness in infancy or childhood of which medical expense is subsidized by government. Currently about 800 diseases are incorporated. Since a medical certificate with detailed clinical information is submitted upon application from each patient, the clinical status and physical findings are collected and stored into the disease registry database for research.
Our mission is to provide information of specific chronic diseases in infancy and childhood. We collaborate with experts in various paediatric subspecialties and the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare to develop and evaluate health policy for children with chronic conditions.
